It’s no secret that the internet is something used daily for many of us. Due to the progression of technology, the internet has even become a necessity for some for work, school, and even for basic communication.
With this progression, it’s only natural that kids will want to use the computer too and possibly even need it for school. With all of the dangers present online, we want to take all of the steps we can to ensure they know how to be safe before they access the web. One of the most important pieces of advice someone can hear about going online is to not post something you might regret later. We’re always hearing the phrase “once it’s online, it never leaves” because it’s true. Even if you delete a post or a photo you never know if it’s really gone.
Posting online can affect your relationships, and even possibly put you in danger. That danger could be someone who wants to harm you or someone who wants to steal from you. The thing about the internet is that it’s hard to know exactly who you’re talking to.
There are many reasons why it’s important to talk to children before they use the internet, but after they know all of these rules they will be better equipped to make responsible decisions while online.
