If you haven’t been to a food and beer pairing yet, you’re missing out. As we all know the craft brew industry has experienced exponential growth over the last decade. The flavor palette of the drinks are endless. A brown sour, or watermelon pilsner are just a couple examples of the breadth of beer types.
Pairing food and alcohol has been a tradition for hundreds of years. I’m sure wine and cheese is what first comes to mind. Investigating which wine and which cheese pairs best together is a fun sport. The similar earthy notes in your wine could match the same in a certain cheese.
With beer it is the same. Small hints of chocolate in your stout could match amazingly with a New York strip. A spring salad would pair well with a crisp lager.
Play with your food. Experimenting with flavors and expanding one’s palette helps build a more cultured person.
