The world revolves around beer. Beer has been a significant part of human civilization for years and years, and continues to be one of the most culturally inspiring beverages. Today’s infographic will be looking at a specific subculture of beer: craft beers.
Craft beers (the beer I like to call “underground beer”) is made in microbreweries. Microbreweries are known for their dedication to the style in which the beer is brewed and the uniqueness of the taste. It is called a craft beer, because it is enjoyed for its “brew value” as I call it. Craft beers are generally independently brewed as opposed to being just a corporate product.
About 36% of consumers drink craft beer. It has become a lot more popular amongst the younger generations with 43% of millenials digging it versus the 32% of baby boomers.
If you’re looking to get your brew on the market, this infographic suggests that you show your customers how well you know your beer by pairing it with certain food items. For instance, a wheat craft beer might go really well with sushi, while an IPA would complement curry.
Also, if you’re serious about starting your own microbrewery, now would be the time to do so. Sales of craft beers are expected to triple by 2017. I am by no means an economist, but more is good, right? Right. [via]
