According to today’s infographic the average worker only works 1.5 hours a day. I’m not sure about you, but this statistic seems like bullshit. Everyone I know puts quite a few hours everyday at work. Of course there’s a lot of distractions because we all have computers in our pockets, but the stats on this graphic seem ridiculous.
They’re saying it takes 23 minutes to return to the original task after a distraction. That seems abnormally high. I know it can take five minutes or so if you get distracted by instagram or facebook, but 23? That’s how long a sitcom is.
If this graphic is true, I don’t understand how we get anything done. I’ll stop hating on this graphic and I’ll look at the points I agree with: meetings are bullshit. Most people agree that meetings are almost useless. Especially meetings that are covering a narrow subject. When there are less than 5 people in the meeting that need to have any say it should be done through email.
