I hate cleaning the house. I will argue with my significant other over the most trivial things, as long as it keeps me from cleaning. But why do I, and millions of other men, do this? According to this infographic, women do 51% of the house cleaning and 41% of cohabiting couples argue about it.
Over the past year, my girlfriend and I have developed a solution to this problem. Instead of arguing about who does what, how to clean, or when to clean, we’ve set some guidelines. Every Sunday, we spend one hour or less cleaning, depending on how dirty our house is. We split up the responsibilities and stick to those duties every week. For example, I hate vacuuming and my girlfriend hates moping. So I mop and she vacuums. Problem solved [via]
