Happy 4th of July! Today in 1776 we declared our independence from Britain. Remember that, because you don’t want to be in the 26% of Americans who don’t know what nation we declared independence from today. Today’s infographic is all about the day that allows us to go all out and celebrate this great nation of ours. Celebrations usually including fireworks, bbq, drinking, etc.
Although America doesn’t have the reputation it once had with the rest of the world, I believe that we can make a come back. We are the greatest nation, I don’t say that out of arrogance, but out of pride in this country. We have the perfect ingredients to be top dog, we have just hit a road block at this moment. With capitalism we have competition and within our population we have our many different cultures, not to mention the perfect amount of compassion for others (all our social programs). Again I do acknowledge that right now all of that is in the crapper and we need to get our act together.
Although each of us has our different beliefs as a whole we are a pretty patriotic nation, and it shows in the naming of our cities. There are 35 places with the name Eagle in the United States, the most populous being Eagle Pass, TX, where my parents are from! Hopefully you’re not in a burn ban like Austin and will get to enjoy fireworks today. [via]
