One of the biggest complaints anyone has about their job is the lack of a balance between their work and their life. Younger generations are finding this harder to achieve due to the generally lower salary, while still holding heavy responsibilities in their roles at work.
Millennials are not just high schoolers anymore. Many have jobs, houses, and families and they want to be able to balance all of these things. By 2025, it is projected that 75% of the workforce will be millennials.
It is important for anyone to not swamp themselves with too many work responsibilities. Unfortunately, this happens way too often, leading to people even bringing work home with them to do after hours on a regular basis. It is this sort of mentality that can easily lead to becoming burnt out and not wanting to do any of it.
So, how does one achieve the elusive balance between work and life? The answer is that it is different for everyone. For some people, they need to learn that it is okay to say no when they already have too much on their plates. Others may need to learn how to effectively manage their time to have more opportunities for their hobbies and families. Most importantly, it is important to know that it is okay to leave work at work and schedule some time to step away and relax.
