Do you ever have days when you think it might be better to just abandon ship and disappear to some remote place where worries never journey than to take it on? I am having that day. Everything has been extra complicated for no apparent reason.
When I was a kid, one of my favorite books was Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad, Day by Judith Viorst. I recommend reading it if you haven’t–or reading it again, just because–but basically it is about a boy named Alexander who is having a really rough day. Literally, nothing is going his way (e.g. he doesn’t get the window seat on the way to school, Mrs. Dickens doesn’t like his picture of the invisible castle, there is no dessert in his lunchbox). And worse, everyone else around him seems to be getting exactly what they want. His solution: move to Australia.
Just in case you are having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day, I have decided to post an infographic ranking the top 10 happiest cities in the world. Take a mind vacation–or plan a real one–but remember, “Everybody has bad days, even people who live in Australia.” [via]
