Alright, so let’s say you’re a little late to the game and you’ve just seen either Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and you’re wondering to yourself, “What was up with all of those different sized people? And why were they all called weird names like ‘elf’ and ‘dwarf’?” Well never fear dear reader, today’s infographic is here to help you sort out the differences in the inhabitants of Middle Earth, both large and small.
Today’s infographic comes to us from Yahoo! Movies and it’s there to give moviegoers who are unfamiliar with J.R.R. Tolkien’s work a sort of visual guide to the characters they’ll encounter in the films. In the Lord of the Rings films and The Hobbit, elves (Elrond once again being played by Hugo Weaving in The Hobbit) are, besides humans, the tallest of Middle Earth’s races and they’re also immortal and never sleep.
