The very most foundational aspects of my personality are rooted in the music that I listen to. Music has been a part of my life ever since my parents bought me Please Please Me by The Beatles when I was 5 years old. That was my shit. While all of my peers were discovering Britney Spears and The Backstreet Boys, I was jamming out to a Simon and Garfunkel’s greatest hits tape. I’ve always prided myself on the music that I listen to, because quite frankly, music is the only thing that matters in this world. Music is just fantastic. It’s candy for the ears and soul. The craziest thing about music is that it is only noise. It’s just a bunch of sounds that humans have been creating and tweaking for years and years, because for whatever reason, these certain sounds are pleasing to listen to. And what’s even crazier is that all of these sounds create an emotional response when you listen to them. Have you ever danced to a song? If you answered “no”, gtfo. It’s amazing to me, that someone can put a bunch of sounds together in such a way that, when listened to, make you want to move your body. Music moves through you. Here’s an infographic about other people that like music too. [via]
