¡Hola! I hope all of you had a great time this Halloween weekend, I know I did. As most of you may know, Facebook has been one of the quickest growing companies of all time. Not only does Facebook dominate the internet, but it has intertwined itself into our every day lives, both social and business. Originally Facebook started out being only for college students, but as time has passed and it has become more popular, Facebook’s opened up and now everyone and their mom has a Facebook page.
For many of you this may be old information, but have you ever stopped to think about how big and powerful Facebook has become? I for one, had never stopped to try and visualize how the powerhouse compared to other things, for example something as obscure as country populations. This infographic does just that. When we look at the Facebook population compared to the populations of other countries, China and India are the only countries left to have larger populations than that of Facebook. However, Facebook continues to grow at the remarkable rate of 21 million new users per month.
These numbers are staggering for any company, but considering Facebook has been around for less than a decade, it makes the numbers that much more impressive. I will admit that I held out on getting a Facebook page for as long as possible, but today Facebook pervades too much of society that you are sure to miss out on something by not being on it. This site in fact owes much of its success to the simplicity and convenience Facebook offers in the marketing department. Facebook is word of mouth for the digital age. [via]
