Damn. That guys likes to kill off characters. The ever increasing death rate of Tarantino movies is an interesting aspect of his film making. I’ve heard rumors of a Kill Bill 3. I bet an entire army falls on the ever-so-present samurai sword.
Because Tarantino seems to be the only one capable of creating his signature movie picture – the only person to top is himself. Inglorious Bastards was one of Quentin’s largest undertaking of death, but it wasn’t his first step into gore. From Reservoir Dogs to Django, his blood red motif has splattered million of movie screens. He is known for many signature trademarks in his films – the car trunk scene, a ridiculously long un-edited scene, an addiction to briefcases and one scene that will make you cringe and close your eyes.
In his latest film, Django Unchained, The Dog Scene is one of the most heart-wrenching, nasty ones in motion picture history. But that is what Mr. Tarantino is famous for. Death Proof, Pulp Fiction, the Kill Bill’s: they all go over the top with the gore and that’s why its ok. If it was too real it wouldn’t be bearable, but the overblown bloodshed has the slightest tinge of humor. [Via]
