As we all know, time can be an elusive thing. For instance, when I play the video game Fez for 4 hours and it only seems like 2 minutes, it gives me the tiniest bit of insight into the mysteries that lie within time. In comparison to the timespan of the universe or even that of Earth however, my tiny human brain is hopeless to comprehend the sheer breadth of seconds, minutes, years or eons of time that have existed for eternity. This infographic shows (in the best way I’ve seen) a very fundamental view of almost every era known to man since the dawn of time, stepping further and further back until we’re finally met with the big bang. It really puts into perspective how tiny our life’s little bubble of time is in the grand scheme of things.
What I find especially cool about this infographic is that it puts almost everything into a timeline of it’s own perspective. We start with a single human day expanding into larger and larger time frames and comprehensions so that we see eventually see the incredibly long lifespans of things within their own ‘timespan.’ If that made any sort of sense at all, then you’ll probably enjoy perusing this infographic!
