The Best Hydrating Beverages For The Summer

By | source:Here Aug 26th, 2023

As the summer heat approaches, it’s important to stay hydrated. However, drinking water alone can get boring after a while. The good news is that there are plenty of flavorful beverages you can drink throughout the day that will keep you from dehydrating and also help replenish nutrients lost during sweat loss. Here are my top picks for hydrating drinks:

Coconut Water

Coconut water is a natural source of electrolytes, which help to regulate your body’s water balance. It’s also a good source of potassium and magnesium, as well as phosphorus. Coconut water has a low glycemic index, meaning that it doesn’t spike your blood sugar levels like other sweet drinks do–which makes it great for people who have diabetes or are watching their weight! The only downside? The price tag that comes with coconut water can be pretty steep compared to some other hydrating beverages out there (we’re looking at you, soda). But if money isn’t an issue for you and quality is more important than quantity when choosing what goes into your body then this might just be the perfect drink for summertime hydration!

Milk

Milk is a good source of calcium and vitamin D, which can help strengthen bones and improve muscle function. It’s also a great alternative to water if you’re looking for something that tastes good but isn’t too sweet. Milk can be enjoyed on its own or added into coffee or tea–the possibilities are endless! Vegan milks are also available for those who prefer not to drink animal products in their beverages. These include soy milk, almond milk (which may be labeled as “almond beverage”), cashew nut-based drinks like cashew cheese, pea protein-based beverages such as Ripple Foods’ pea protein smoothie mixers (which have approximately 10 grams of protein per serving), hemp seed-based drinks like Good Karma Foods’ Hemp Dream Chocolate Hemp Seed Beverage (containing 8 grams per serving).

Lemon Water

Lemon water is a great way to stay hydrated and healthy. It’s also one of the easiest drinks to make, so it’s perfect for summer mornings when you’re rushing out the door. Lemon water contains vitamin C, antioxidants and fiber. In addition to being hydrating, lemon juice has been shown to help treat sore throats and colds because of its antiviral properties (1). You can add lemons or other citrus fruits like oranges or grapefruits into your water if you want more flavor options–or just drink plain old lemon water if that sounds good too!

Jaljeera

Jaljeera is a digestive drink that is made by mixing cumin seeds, mint leaves and black salt. It’s a refreshing beverage that helps in digestion.

Chaas

Chaas is a yogurt-based drink that’s been around for centuries. It’s incredibly refreshing and healthy, and it can be made in your own kitchen with just three simple ingredients: yogurt, water and salt. Chaas is also known as “buttermilk” or “lassi”–though it’s distinctly different from the dairy products we know today. Traditional chaas uses whole milk (or curdled milk) to make its base; this gives the beverage a thicker consistency than modern buttermilk or lassi. You can use either cow’s milk or buffalo milk to make chaas; just be sure not to use low-fat varieties since they won’t separate properly during fermentation! If you’d like something even richer-tasting than plain old cow/buffalo milk chaas but don’t want any extra calories from cream, try adding some heavy whipping cream into your recipe instead of opting for full fat versions of each ingredient listed above

Aam Panna

Aam Panna is a popular summer beverage made from mangoes. It’s traditionally served as a cooling drink during hot summer months in India, but it can also be enjoyed year-round. Aam Panna has many health benefits, including being high in Vitamin C and antioxidants. It contains potassium, which helps lower blood pressure; magnesium for increased energy levels; calcium for strong bones; folic acid which reduces risk of stroke or heart attack (especially when combined with vitamin B12); iron for healthy red blood cells; vitamin A & E which fight free radicals that damage cells causing premature aging!

Lassi

Lassi is a traditional yogurt-based drink popular in India and Pakistan. It can be made with different ingredients and served either sweet or savory, depending on your preference. Lassi is believed to have originated in the Punjab region of India around 1000 BC. The word lassi comes from the Persian word “lassi” which means “lemonade”. In Hindi, it’s called dhoodh piyaasa (a phrase that translates roughly as “milk thirst quencher”). Lassi has been used for centuries as a cooling beverage during hot weather because it’s made with yogurt and water–both products that are naturally rich in probiotics that promote healthy gut bacteria growth! Yogurt also contains lactose sugar which helps balance blood sugar levels when you eat too much sugar-rich foods like sweets or desserts.

Sattu Sharbat

Sattu Sharbat is a traditional Indian drink. It’s made from roasted gram flour and it is a cooling drink that hydrates you and helps with digestion, weight loss and heart health.

Ragi Ambil

Ragi ambil is a traditional drink in Karnataka that’s made from ragi (a type of grass), jaggery (unrefined sugar), and spices. It’s a good source of iron and calcium. You can serve it chilled or warm depending on your preference!
