England and France: these two countries have had their fair share of differences in the past. In today’s infographic their rivalry continues, as London and Paris are pitted against each other once again. Keep in mind, there is some obvious bias towards London in this particular graphic, but it still has some great information about France!
Both cities are massive art and culture hubs. According to the infographic, there are 300 paintings by JMW Turner that are kept in London’s Tate Britain; and in Paris, the Mona Lisa receives 6 million visitors every year. There is also no escaping the growing appreciation for food and drink in both cities. The French definitely know how to prepare a good meal, but apparently England isn’t far behind with its dabbles in the culinary world. Did you know that there are at least 30 microbreweries in London? And Paris has the Musee du Vin Paris, a museum dedicated entirely to wine.
For me, Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris holds a fair share of romanticism–both historical and sentimental. As Hemmingway says, â??If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.â? And when it comes to London, there is no denying the allure of an English accent–after all, we’re only human. Check out today’s infographic and take a closer look at some lesser known facts about two legendary cities. [HouseTrip London Team ]
