Let’s not pretend like we have a dream job or like we are super successful because we are not there yet. I actually have another year to go before I finish college and then I’ll have to make some real choices. However different our situations, everyday our lives change in some small way whether we realize it or not. Everyday we are put into situations where we have to make a choice that will affect us and our future. It’s important for us to make the choice that makes us happiest and if not the most happy at the very least content.
We all have an idea of where we want our career to go. But which job will you take to get you started on your journey? Do you want a job in a large firm where you are likely to get over looked by management or do you go for smaller firm that will allow you more representation but in the end be less stable? Or maybe you want a job where people can do their own thing and not be tied down by rules.
Personally, I feel pretty comfortable with picking a job based on the title though. Above all else, one should take pride in the work they do. Of the seven reasons listed to consider when deciding on a job, the first step is to get rid of the ones that go one the bottom of the list. [via]
