If you like the outdoors, then chances are you’ve been camping before. Camping can be a great way to immerse yourself in nature and relax. It makes it even better when you know how to effectively and safely build yourself a campfire to keep warm and to cook with.
A campfire is a great addition to any campsite in the woods, or even just a social gathering in the backyard. Not only does it provide warmth, so you can enjoy the outdoors when it’s cold outside, but you can also use it to cook marshmallows and other snacks.
The most important key to a great campfire is safety. First, you need enough room to build it and to make sure that there will be sufficient space for nothing around it to catch fire. Make sure you build the fire at least 15 feet away from any trees, bushes or structures. After you establish safety, you need three elements. These are oxygen, heat and fuel. If you have these, you have the material for a fire.
