We all know Disney, but what you may not realize is that Disney doesn’t just own the theme parks, TV shows, and movies you love. In fact, it owns a number of companies that you probably use daily—and some of them even produce products geared towards adults. So if you’re wondering where to invest your money or what to buy next on Amazon Prime (hint: everything), here are the companies owned by The Walt Disney Company so that you can get in on some of their success:

You probably know Marvel from their comics and movies. But did you know that many of these characters are actually owned by Disney? In 2009, Disney acquired Marvel for $4 billion in an effort to expand its portfolio of intellectual property. Since then, the company has been responsible for some of Hollywood’s biggest successes–including The Avengers and Black Panther–and continues to grow at a rapid pace.

21st Century Fox

21st Century Fox is a multinational media and entertainment conglomerate. The company owns a number of popular entertainment properties, including the film studio 20th Century Fox and the television networks Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox Sports 1, and National Geographic Channels. Disney acquired 21st Century Fox in December 2017 for $71 billion dollars. This deal gave Disney control over many beloved franchises such as The Simpsons (which airs on FOX), X-Men (which airs on FX) and Avatar (which airs on National Geographic).

Star Wars

Disney owns the Star Wars franchise, which it acquired from Lucasfilm in 2012 for $4 billion. The company has since made over $12 billion at the box office with its trilogy of films and spinoff series. Star Wars is one of the most valuable franchises in history–and Disney plans to keep it that way by releasing a new movie every year until at least 2021.

Pixar is a computer animated film studio that was founded in 1986. Pixar is best known for its CGI-animated films, which include Toy Story (1995), A Bug’s Life (1998), Finding Nemo (2003), The Incredibles (2004) and Ratatouille (2007). Pixar was acquired by Disney in 2006 for $7.4 billion dollars.

ABC Television Group

The ABC Television Group is a subsidiary of Disney that owns and operates several television networks. These include ABC, which airs shows like Modern Family and Grey’s Anatomy; ESPN (which you probably already know about); and Freeform (formerly known as ABC Family). The company also owns 20th Century Fox Film, which produces movies like Deadpool 2.

Disney owns a lot of companies and it’s easier than you think to invest in them. From Marvel to Lucasfilm, it’s easier than you think to invest in them. Disney is one of the most recognizable brands on the planet and it also happens to be a great investment opportunity for any investor looking for diversified exposure in entertainment, sports and media industries. And if you’re interested in investing with Disney but don’t know where to start? Here are some quick facts about the company:

  • Disney has been around since 1923 when Walt Disney created his first animation studio at his home in Hollywood Hills (then called “Laugh-O-Gram Studios”). Since then they’ve produced countless hit movies such as “Beauty & Beast” and TV shows such as “The Simpsons” or “Modern Family.”
  • In 2009 they purchased Marvel Entertainment Inc., which gave them ownership over characters like Spiderman or Iron Man (who was portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.). They also own Star Wars creator George Lucas’ production company Lucasfilm Ltd., which produced many popular films including Star Wars Episodes I – III as well as Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skulls.”

Disney is one of the most powerful companies in the world, and it’s not just because of their hit movies. They own a ton of other assets that could make you rich if you invest in them. If you’re looking for a way to get started with investing or want to diversify your portfolio with some long-term investments (that won’t lose value!), then this might be just what you need!
