The Halo series has come a long, long way since its introduction in Halo: Combat Evolved in 2001, and for all of those who have found themselves immersed in the franchise’s universe, one can’t help but realize that there is much more than meets the eye in each of the games of the series. A very remarkable piece of every game is the alien races that you will encounter along the way, like the Elites (Sangheili), a reptilian species that is naturally bigger, faster, and stronger than the average human combatant, or the Brutes (Jiralhanae) which—since their introduction on Halo 2—became a force to be reckoned with thanks to their primal strength and unconventional weapons.
On the other side, you have less formidable combatants that fill the ranks of the Covenant, like the Grunts (Unggoy), and the Jackals (Kig-Yar), which serve as their regular army you’ll find scattered all over the place. On the other hand, we have the Hunters (Lekgolo, Mgalekgolo) which are probably the most dangerous enemy you’ll face in most situations. They have the particularity that they’re not a single being, but a creature made of many worm-like creatures. These creatures also always work in pairs, so if you see one of them, the other is not too far!
